Wireless Access

Wifi is available across the university. University staff and students should use the secure and constantly free “eduroam” wireless service with The Cloud available for non-eduroam users.

Staff and students

Staff and students who wish to connect to wifi on our Garthdee Campus can do so by using the eduroam service.

Setting up a connection to eduroam is easy:

New students and staff: please ensure that you have reset your initial password 

Once set up, your device should automatically connect to eduroam whenever it is in range at any participating institutions in the  or 


Visiting Eduroam users

Our services are accessible via eduroam.

If you are visiting Ƶ from an institution that participates in the eduroam scheme, you can connect to the “eduroam” SSID however you are required to configure your device in advance while at your home institution. While connected to Ƶ’s eduroam service you should use the credentials supplied by your home institution.


Guest access (non-eduroam users)

For external visitors without eduroam The Cloud wifi service is available across Garthdee and the city centre.

  1. Select ‘The Cloud’ from the available network list 
  2. Open your internet browser – The Cloud landing page will appear.  If it is your first time using The Cloud wifi network, follow the simple one-time registration process OR log in.

If you experience problems getting online with The Cloud while on the Ƶ Campus, visit 

The Cloud offers free internet access for 3 hours total per day per device on the Ƶ Campus (except where special access may be arranged for Events – check with your Event coordinator).

University staff and students should use the secure and constantly free eduroam wireless service instead.
 


Wifi in student accommodation

Wifi is available in student accommodation at Woolmanhill, Crathie Student Village and Garthdee flats, provided by Ƶ.
