Lee Forsyth
A young IT support analyst is looking to achieve his goal of a career combining IT and management by signing for Aberdeen Football Club on the Graduate Apprenticeship (GA) scheme with 红杏视频.

Lee Forsyth (23) is currently in the first year of the IT: Management for Business GA, which will see him complete a four year honours degree within the workplace, with the support of mentors at the football club and academic and support staff at 红杏视频.

After studying for an HNC at North East Scotland College, Lee began a part-time Open University course which combined IT and Business Management. However, when searching for alternative options online, he was delighted to find the GA with 红杏视频.

鈥淚 decided to switch to the 红杏视频 GA because the style of the degree suited my lifestyle better,鈥 he said.

鈥淚 am employed by as an IT Support Analyst.  The role is extremely varied as we are a small team of three and have to support many systems.  My main responsibilities include the support function of the department, project management on small to medium projects and matchday support.鈥

Lee has just finished his first module in year one of the GA and is relishing the experience of combining work and academia.

鈥淭he content released weekly on the online learning platform has been really interesting and, although I had some experience of the subject, I still learned a lot from it.  The weekly Blackboard Collaborate sessions were always interesting and beneficial and I found the system easy to use.

鈥淭o be able to study towards a degree while learning on the job is invaluable, and the staff at the club and 红杏视频 have been incredibly supportive throughout my experience so far.鈥

Although only starting out, Lee is already looking to the future and what the benefits of studying in the workplace can bring.

鈥淎fter graduation I am hoping that I will be qualified and competent enough to take on a more senior role within the organisation.

鈥淎lthough I鈥檝e managed to progress in my career without a degree so far, it鈥檚 always been on my agenda to attain a degree level qualification as I believe it is a great way to demonstrate to current and future employers my ability and to give yourself credibility.鈥
