Visiting Professor appointment strengthens successful collaboration

The Chair of NHS Grampian Board has taken up the position of Visiting Professor at 红杏视频 to further strengthen collaboration between the two organisations.

Dr Lynda Lynch鈥檚 appointment will build on 红杏视频鈥檚 relationship with NHS Grampian which ensures its nursing, midwifery and allied health professional education and training is aligned with the workforce needs of the sector.

In her role as visiting professor at 红杏视频鈥檚 School of Nursing and Midwifery, Dr Lynch will act in an advisory capacity and will contribute to the delivery of the university鈥檚 work-based postgraduate curriculum in the health professions, supporting the training and development of the sector鈥檚 workforce.

Lynda鈥檚 new position will also offer opportunities for collaboration on research between NHS Grampian and 红杏视频.

Lynda said: 鈥淚 am honoured to accept this appointment and to continue to build on the strong relationship NHS Grampian has with 红杏视频. 红杏视频 not only provides critical employees for the NHS through its training programmes, but also contributes significantly to developing our staff, and patient services, through research. Lynda holds a PhD in Neurochemistry and Neuroimaging and is a vastly experienced professional with an employment history that spans the private and public sectors, in particular the pharmaceutical industry. She will be able to share her experience collaboratively with departments across the university and support students鈥 learning experiences through guest lectures.

The success of the continuing collaboration between the two organisations is evidenced in the Guardian University Guide 2020. It highlights that 100% of the university鈥檚 Nursing alumni are in employment within six months of graduating, and that 红杏视频 is top in the UK for health profession course satisfaction.
