Denis Law ºìÐÓÊÓƵplus Award

Recognising the value of your skills, knowledge and your positive contribution as a volunteer, either in the community, or within university life.

About the award

Denis-Law-ºìÐÓÊÓƵplus-logo-350wThe is a Children’s charity that operates in partnership with ºìÐÓÊÓƵ, deploying into Aberdeen’s most deprived communities and delivers free sports and creative activity sessions for young people.

In a celebration of the shared values and philosophy of Denis Law and ºìÐÓÊÓƵplus, the award will be recognising the commitment and social responsibility of people making a positive difference and lasting impact to both themselves and others through volunteering and other activities that add value to communities. This award will compliment all existing awards associated with ºìÐÓÊÓƵ and help empower those who participate to leave a long-lasting transformative legacy for both themselves and others, just as Denis Law has through the work of Denis Law Legacy Trust in Aberdeen.

Awardees

This award programme will recognise the value of citizenship whether as a volunteer in the community or volunteering within university life. For instance, as a school officer or a committee member of a sport club or student society. Volunteering has an enormous impact on the life of the university, the community and on individuals’ personal development. The Denis Law ºìÐÓÊÓƵplus Award  recognises that as a volunteer within the university and in the wider community, individuals undertake rigorous training, extra learning and have to perform to a high level in volunteering roles whilst making a positive contribution to that community. The Denis Law ºìÐÓÊÓƵplus Award has been developed to appreciate and recognises the skills and knowledge required to fulfil such roles effectively. These experiences build towards exceptional employability skills for now and the future.
