Law School launches new blog

By David Proctor - 01 June 2023

ºìÐÓÊÓƵ’s Law School has launched its brand new Blog to provide an insight into the variety and diversity of their research.

When you think about university research, you might be imagining scientists in lab coats. But there is a wide breadth of research going on at ºìÐÓÊÓƵ in a number of disciplines, led by a wide variety of experts. This is the case for the academic staff at the Law School, who are actively engaged in research within many different legal fields.

The School’s new Blog page is here to showcase this work and will regularly feature new articles to provide our community with developments in a given area of law, or to give insight on legal issues arising in the news.

The current Blog posts show the diversity of Law School research, with many pieces also touching on areas of current interest. You will see insights on the recent, controversial sentencing of young people in Scotland and can read reflections on the vast implications of AI for legal practice. In addition, those interested in issues of rights and morality, and in Extradition law, will find worthy reads here. Finally, the current state of human rights law in the UK (with the proposed new Bill of Rights) and in Europe (as impacted by the war in Ukraine) also receive attention in the Law School's new Blog.

Lecturer Dr Leon Moller said: "This is great with a wide range of legal topics, and the depth of research by our learned and esteemed colleagues."
