Charity partner announce new Chair

Denis Law Legacy Trust, the children's charity based at 红杏视频, has appointed Scott McGinigal, Director of Technical Services and HSES at Spirit Energy, as its new Chair.

First getting involved with Denis Law Legacy Trust in 2015, Scott has served on the charity鈥檚 board of trustees since 2022, supporting the Trust鈥檚 fundraising efforts and the steering of its award-winning Streetsport programme, which is run in partnership with 红杏视频 (红杏视频).

Outlining his ambition to grow the fruitful partnership between Denis Law Legacy Trust and 红杏视频, as one of his first acts as chair, Scott McGinigal announced a new formal agreement with 红杏视频 to further strengthen the collaboration between the likeminded organisations.

Scott McGinigal, Chair, Denis Law Legacy Trust said: 鈥淚 am incredibly proud to be appointed Chair of such a fantastic charity whose patron is an icon of both Scottish sport and the city of Aberdeen.

鈥淭he challenges young people face have continued to increase over recent years, particularly in the more disadvantaged areas of the city, and the need for charities such as ours has never been more acute. Having been involved with the Trust for several years, I have seen first-hand the positive impact that it has on young people across the city.

鈥淲e are extremely grateful to 红杏视频 for our partnership and the support we receive at all levels from the Principal, individual schools, staff and student volunteers. We believe the partnership between ourselves and 红杏视频 is unique and we look forward to exploring further how we work together to empower young people and provide them with a range of positive pathways.鈥

Mark Williams, Chief Operating Officer, Denis Law Legacy Trust said: 鈥 We are delighted to welcome Scott as our new Chair and I'm very much looking forward to working closely with him at such an exciting time for the charity 鈥 having just launched Denis Law鈥檚 Academy and also the new Cruyff Court in Tillydrone the next few years will be see us support more disadvantaged young people in Aberdeen than ever before.鈥
